Atomic Backland 85 22/23 Touring Ski
Discover your Backland
A wildly lightweight and versatile ski designed for alpine touring, Backland 85 is built with Atomic’s Ultra Light Woodcore construction, keeping it nice and light for uphill climbing. Further reducing weight, the Carbon Backbone runs the length of the ski like a backbone, providing exceptional agility and stable edge grip on the descent. Specifically shaped underfoot to allow for easier travel when climbing, especially on longer traverses, the All Mountain Rocker profile and HRZN Tech in the tip allow the ski to float in fresh snow and charge through chop and crud with less tip deflection. The cut-out notch in the tips makes transitioning the pre-fit skins from Atomic a snap.
Ski tourers need to move over the whole mountain so they’re constantly looking for equipment with the best combination of light weight, comfort and functionality. Offering models for all-round adventure touring, superlight (SL) touring and resort piste (PT) touring, Atomic’s Backland series delivers ultimate performance - uphill and downhill, no matter the conditions.

HRZN Tech Tip & Tail
HRZN Tech Tip & Tail takes an ABS sidewall construction and bends it with a revolutionary across-the-ski, horizontal rocker. It adds 10% more surface area in tip and tail for awesome flotation - plus less tip deflaction and better tracking through chop. The ultimate design for powder skiers.

Laminate: Carbon Backbone
Carbon Backbone: An ultra-lightweight carbon insert that runs the length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone. This provides exceptional agility and edge hold with no extra weight.
Core: Ultra Light Woodcore
The poplar and caruba woodcore for skis that are all about low weight, like our touring skis.
Fiberglass
Continuous fiberglass layers create a ski that is smooth and stable while remaining lightweight and dynamic.

Sidewall: Dura Cap Sidewall
A construction with no sidewall where the top sheet folds down over the edges, making it easy to handle.

Rocker-Technology: All Mountain Rocker
For all snow conditions and any terrain, both on and off-piste. An early rise either just in the tip, or in both tip and tail, makes this rocker super versatile.
