Kristofer Turdell
Gälivare, Sweden, 26 years old
4th overall FWT 2016 | 1st FWT Vallnord, Andorra 2016 | 1st overall FWQ 2015 | Two time winner of SBMC
Kristofer charmed the Freeride World Tour community with his down to earth and humble personality and rock solid charging skiing during his rookie season on the tour. With a victory in Vallnord, Andorra, his first FWT competition ever, Kristofer showed the established guys on the tour that he wasn’t there to just see and learn. His fearless, smooth and accurate made a mark on everyone and Kristofer rapidly went from rookie to one of the favourites on all the following comps.
Grown up in the Swedish Lapland, north of the polar circle and far away from the stressful cities, Kristofer learned to ski at an early age. He quickly formed a playful style and going in to competitions was not an obvious choice for the young Kristofer. After being convinced by some friends to he made his way to the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships and now, five years later, Kristofer is one of the favourites for the overall title in Freeride World Tour 2017. While Kristofer isn’t on the mountain, he enjoys sailing, mountain biking or spending the time in the sauna with good friends.
Loïc Collomb-Patton
La Clusaz, Frankreich, 30 years old
2 times FWT overall champion, 2014 and 2016 | 1st FWT Chamonix 2014, 2015 and 2016 | 1st FWT Courmayeur 2014 | 3rd Verbier Xtreme 2014
Loic Collomb-Patton is one of that guys you can see from a distance and you just know he is an awesome skier. Grown up in the French freeskiing mecka, La Clusaz, and with a competitive mind that few other athletes has, Freeskiing World Champion was kind of written in the stars for Loic. But it hasn’t been a straight road to top for Loic even though he has been successful in everything that he has taken on within skiing. It all started in his early years between the gates, then he shifted to mogouls that later on evolved to slopestyle and halfpipe. At this time, Loic was one of the most prominent freestyler skiers and companies stood in line to have his name on their products.
Then the big bump came in his slope and after some years with tough knee injuries, Loic decided it was time to change path again to fulfill the dream of being world champion. Freeride World Tour was the perfect stage for his playful and confident skiing, the community loved him and during his rookie season he was crowned with the world title.
Outside skiing, this calm and quite Frenchie, enjoys hunting, biking and the mountains around his home village. During the off season Loic also pick up the tool box from time to time and joins his friends at the carpentry. The reality check helps keeping the balance between “normal life” and being a well know freeskiing champion. At the bottom line, Loic is just that guy that from a small mountain village that enjoys skiing a little bit more than everyone else.
