EDELRID specializes in rope development and manufacturing and has launched the first bluesign® certified ropes on the market. EDELRID not only uses its accumulated know-how to develop ever new innovations, but also shares this knowledge with everyone who wants to experience the joy of free movement in the vertical.
INNOVATIVE THINK TANK
In addition to revolutionary rope manufacturing technology, the first sewn express sling and one of the first chest and seat harnesses also come from the Allgäu company's workshop. And the joy of innovation does not cease. Particular highlights of recent years: in 2016 EDELRID introduces the OHM, a pre-switching resistor for balancing the weight of climbers and belayers, in 2018 the GIGA JUL, autotuber and tuber in one device, and in 2021 the NEO 3R 9.8 MM, the first recycled climbing rope. In ten years, the company wins over 50 awards and accolades for its products - both industry awards and accolades from mountaineering media.

PROMOTING SUSTAINABILITY
Equipment for free movement in the vertical world, as well as our behavior, leave a certain ecological footprint and thus impact on nature and people. EDELRID approaches its projects with this awareness, not only researching the safety and function of its products and activities, but also taking a close look at the environmental and social aspects.
Under the #ClimbGreen label, EDELRID awards specially developed products that meet the highest current standards for responsible design and manufacturing in the respective product group.
ClimbGreen products are based on the 3R concept - reduce, reuse, recycle - and are thus either made from sustainably certified or recycled materials. Or they stand out due to their particularly long service life.
With the ClimbGreen collection, EDELRID is proving that the issue of sustainability can also be consistently implemented in the PPE sector without having to compromise on safety or performance. Special achievements include innovative products such as the recycled climbing rope NEO 3R 9.8 MM, which was awarded the Federal Ecodesign Prize, non-anodized carabiners or PFC-free climbing ropes that meet the UIAA standard for water-repellent ropes.
